NOT A HAPPY CAMPER! Just tried installing these plugs. Everything flew apart and now I cannot reassemble the pistol. Oh, the videos warn you to hold onto everything. Well, I dont have 3 hands! And they dont show what to do when the SHTF. I admit I am not a gunsmith, far from it. But I was lead to believe this didnt require that kind of expertise. I have done permanent damage to my gun during the process. Can someone please point me to a video that shows how to re-assemble all of the parts? I have no freakin idea where this little spring came from.

What little spring are you talking about? If you followed the directions in the video - and in the downloadable PDF the only spring you should have is the one that is roughly 2 inches long that fits in the frame in the grip. On top of that spring there should be a plunger.
Take a photo of what's going on and I will help. Nothing should be too complicated and nothing should of flown apart.

I apologize to the inflammatory post. I was very frustrated. I dropped the gun off with a gunsmith for reassembly.
I have attached a picture of the components and the damage I did.

Murphy is a b*&^!
Without having my gun apart, or near me, I have no idea where that spring goes. When I took the gun apart to build the plugs the only spring that I messed with was the one in the frame.
That spring goes between the sear lever and the frame... It must not have been in there correctly because it seats in a little hole and shouldn't be able to come out unless you take the frame itself apart... If you look at it from the back bottom, it should go between the little silver bit that pivots around the new pin and the frame...

What damage did you do to the inner assembly?
I unknowingly beat the hell out of it trying to drive the front pin out. I also did damage to the polymer in the area of the front pin. I think its all cosmetic and probably wont effect the operation of the gun but it will bother me from now on. This was a brand new gun When I get it back I will likely make someone a really good deal on it and go get another new one.
IMHO, this is not something an amateur should attempt. This is far more involved than a field strip. If you are not comfortable removing the entire trigger assembly I highly recommend you have the work done by a gunsmith.
This is all quite embarrassing for me. Again I apologize for the negative post. I meant no offense to the OP or anyone else in the thread. I did try to delete it but was unable to.
THESE PLUGS ARE A GREAT PRODUCT AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM. I applaud the designer. One day I will have an M&P22 with them installed!
Is there a preferred method of disassembly/reassembly direction regarding the 2 pins that need to be hammered out first? From the view of the barrel pointing away from you, of course. Or, does the direction of removal really matter?

I go out towards the take down lever as the hole on the right side seems smaller than the pin on my gun and won't go through without beating the **** out of it like he did... It comes out right to left pretty easily... Haven't noticed a difference on the rear.

I confirm that's it's best to remove both pins going from right to left, when the back of the gun is facing towards you. I noticed that the left side of the rear pin's end may be slightly flared. Also, use a couple of small rubber bands to wrap around the front of the barrel/frame and rear assembly/frame before punching out the two pins. This will help keep parts from popping out as you punch out the rear pin. Lastly, I highly recommend reading the new instructions carefully before starting this project. It will help you to better understand and follow the procedure. Thanks to jobiin for putting together a great aftermarket product for the M&P 22. It definitely has improved the looks and operation of my pistol. Consider me now a happy camper.
Question: are the plugs captured in the frame like the original levers to keep them from sliding out? Thanks.
You might also consider adding a little dab of clear adhesive to help keep them in place. I used clear, non-permanent, adhesive that's safe for plastics.
I took mine back apart to check something and now after reassembling the gun it will not reset the trigger after each round. It ejects the spent casing OK but doesn't reset. If I manually eject the next unfired round the next bullet fires OK. Not sure if something is broke or missing.

Field strip it and check the hammer. Is it under spring tension? I ran into this issue as well when first prototyping everything and it ended up being the hammer rod thing wasn't set into the spring in the frame.
Do you mean it had slipped off the little button on the spring in the grip? With the magazine removed I can look inside the grip and see the rod contacting the button and pushing down on the spring.
Field strip and decock hammer. Pull trigger and hold it back. Press in the little nub by the screwdriver in the photo. If it doesn't make a little pop sound and the sear drops back forward, you are either missing the little spring from a few posts back like that other guy, or the other reset bits are out of wack... You didn't take the Philips screws out of the frame did you?
Thanks for the reply. I tried the holding the trigger and pushed the button, heard the click and the sear moved forward. Not sure what timing might be off internally since I didn't take anything apart.
It's a cool idea, and it amazes me that we can buy 3D printers now and create anything we can dream up.
But my hat's off to jobiin, who is in for a lot of work and headaches implementing this cool little product. It seems like a ton of stress and liability. I mean the product can be as simple and common sense as possible, but IF someone shoots their foot with a modified M&P22, you can bet jobiin will be getting a letter from an attorney.
And attorneys don't listen to common sense.
What they like to do is take things to court, because that's where they get paid. Then you have to hire your own attorney who will get paid up front.
Good luck my friend. Great idea, looks beautiful too. Please stay safe!
Just got mine back from the gunsmith. Cost me $40 in stupid tax but he was able to get the plugs installed and the gun back together This picture shows some of the damage I did trying to remove the pins. Damage is purely cosmetic but drove me nuts (OCD I guess) so I sold the gun.
Time to order another set of plugs
This time I will pay to have them installed

Before you buy another set of plugs, email me at [email protected]. I'll just send them out to you. Also, we can talk about you sending the gun to my local FFL
All of the orders I've gotten have been shipped. If you haven't received one yet, and it's been over a week, email me with your name and address and I will look to see when it was sent.
Without watching the video in a while, I think he doesn't remove the factory rod that is in place for the safety. You'll have to remove that and install the rod in the kit for the plugs to fit.
Same here about 10 minutes ago!
I ordered the $5 white ones a few weeks ago, but never got around to getting them installed. Glad I waited to tear it apart, this kit looks great.
If anyone else is still interested in these plugs, I have about 10 more sets left. After I sell those it'll be a while before I can print some up. Going on a nice long vacation

Ryan,
First off, I would like to apologize for suggesting the video I mentioned in my earlier post. I spoke before actually replacing mine. I had to use your video.
That said, I received your plugs yesterday, and my M&P 22 today, and just finished installing the plugs - they look great.
Thanks............

Just an update. I took my website to order plugs offline for a while. I am currently working on a start up, and trying to keep up with all the orders was getting to be too much.
If anyone is still interested, you can email me at [email protected]
A while back I had commented that I was having a problem after installing the plugs. The slide would eject and reload but not completely reset the trigger. These plugs were put in prior to the kit coming with a replacement rod being offered as part of the package. I had used a drill shank for the rod.
I had about given up but decided to examine the gun one more time. I removed the plugs and rod and noticed that without the rod the trigger reset seemed a little easier, I could see the trigger assembly move slightly when looking through the now open hole. I put the M&P rod in and it was a slip through fit where the drill shank would not fall out on its own.
I kept the M&P rod in, put electrical tape over the openings to keep the rod from falling out and headed to the range. Success! Not a single problem with resetting the trigger, even when shooting with ****** ammo. The culprit to my woes must have been the slightly oversize rod that prevented the trigger from having enough movement to fully reset. This would also explain why the gunsmith I sent it to couldn't find a problem since he was using higher velocity ammo to test and didn't have any problems.

Life is good again and the gun shoots great!
You're correct. Your issue was the oversized rod. It has to be a specific width. The rod that is in the kit is the exact fit +/- 0.001mm which, I am sure is enough wiggle room to get by. Had to dish out extra bucks to get them within that parameter instead of just the +/- 0.1mm.
I've been getting a number of emails asking for the M&P22 Safety Plugs and when they will be back on sale. I've been traveling for the past few months, so I had to take the website down and halt production on them while I was roaming about doing absolutely nothing. Sounds like fun yeah?
I am going to be selling these again for a short amount of time, maybe a few weeks, then after that, won't be selling or producing them again. If you have an M&P22 without the plugs, now is your time to order. Thinking about getting an M&P22 and might want the plugs? Order em.
I want to be sure everyone who might want one gets one.
Please note that I wont be selling these to anyone outside the US. Shipping is too much of a hassle right now. If you end up purchasing it, and your shipping is outside the US, I'll have to refund your money. Sorry
I have a good list of members who have emailed me asking for the plugs, I will be emailing all of you back personally letting you know they are for sale again.
I'll be shipping them out every few days, they will be made to order until I run out of plastic or envelops ha.
I will be putting my order in in the am when I get back on a secure network. My M&P 22 hasn't even come in yet but I do not plan on missing out on this.
I never got the measurements for the replacement rod you are supplying. What diameter and length did you end up with? I would like to put my original set of plugs from you back in but want to use the correct rod diameter/length to avoid any more problems. Thanks

For those who ordered plugs this week, they are being shipped out today. I am making runs to the post office twice a week, Thursday and Mondays so if you order anytime between those days, that's when it'll go out.
Thanks to those who have ordered so far!
Sadly, I traded my M&P22 yesterday for this sweet 1978 Yamaha SR500. Turning this bad boy into a cafe racer. From one hobby (guns) to another (bikes). I still own my CC glock 26 though, never giving that up.
