sweet 1978 Yamaha SR500. Turning this bad boy into a cafe racer.
|
Have fun, 30 years ago I used to road race on a Honda Ascot 500. A big single that I turned into a giant killer with all the mods; hi-lift cam, hi-compression piston, megaphone pipe, carb, custom rear sets, shocks, etc. I even swapped the fork from a Suzuki 1000 to get a stiffer yet more responsive front end. The SR's can be made into great cafe racers as well and with a British look.

Got lucky today
I found this forum and registered, found two m&p 22 magazines (at a reasonable price), and ordered your safety replacement kit.
I hope you still have some to ship.
Thanks Ryan

What! Owning guns with out a safety! That's none sense! What did people ever so without them before! I'm sure removal of the safety isn't a big deal as the most important safety feature is your firearms safety practice and knowledge.

Thanks for the recent orders. Orders placed on the 29th of June until now will be shipped out on Friday. Out of town visiting family for the Holiday.
Girlfriends dad just picked up a 9mm Shield, excited to try it out. Also going to be firing my rebuilt 1942 Mosin Nagant for the first time. Excited for that as well. Everyone have a good holiday!

The instructions mention a U shaped spring. It says "don't lose it" I didn't see where it was reinstalled. ?????
Is there a kit that has just the cover buttons that would fit over the existing dowel? Even if they extended just a little bit. Essentially two buttons with a square recess.

Not at this time. It's harder for me to make it with a square recessed space.

Latest rounds of plugs went out today. There was a slight delay in shipping since every office supply store was out of envelopes.
Also, I am not sending printed instructions anymore, the cost of printer ink is way to high to be going through a cartridge every 10 orders.

Good news. I just found more dowels and ABS plastic on sale. Decided to restock everything. I am currently printing 30 kits. So I have a good amount left if anyone else is interested. I am shipping recent orders out Monday morning!
Thanks!

Hello this is Dwight, Ryan's now ex-roommate.
Ryan moved across country and couldn't take the 3D printer with him. So he gave me permission to take over for him.
email him if you want verification.
If you're still interested you can email me at [email protected]
I have the pdf with install instructions.
Same goes for everyone else reading this.

Not trying to hijack this, but I assume people are looking for plugs since you've removed the safety.
I'm looking for the safety lever for a full size 9mm. If anyone has one, or knows where to get one, please pm me. I've already tried S&W, Brownells, Midway, and SSS. Thanks.

I purchased this kit around 7-8 months ago. I now have about 9,000 rounds through the gun after installing the kit - no problems at all. Plugs hold in place. The kit comes with two sets of plugs, still on the first set, which shows no signs of needing replacement.
Good product and customer service...Great to see something being made with 3D printing...

Thanks for the positive feed back!
I ran out of dowels for the kit, sending out the last one tomorrow. As soon as I get paid I'll get more. I'm still taking orders if anyones interested. You can preorder, and I'll send em out as soon as I can. Or email me, and I will let you know when they're back in stock.

to order: email me letting me know you want a set, that way I can get it ready, (print out a set, buy more postage, etc), or let you know that I'm otherwise not ready. Then you can purchase via paypal, my account is the same as my email
[email protected]
then soon as I receive payment I'll send it out.

Nows the time to buy
At the end of next month i'm moving, so the printer will be inop for a while
It's going to need to be recalibrated, and i'm lazy, so it'll take a lot longer than it should, so i won't be able to make kits right away

Not to Hijack, but that sucks about the Ticket. I wonder what state you live in. I ask because I'm a jeeper and I've never been hassled for tire showing.

I know I said I was shooting for the 'end of the week' almost a month ago, but I recently started going to school full time, and started a new job. So i have very little 'free' time.
The printer is up and running. But it still needs a good calibration. I tried, but it just did want to stay calibrated. I moved a few months ago, and it wasn't until last month that I cleaned up enough of the garage to set up a table for it. The move also messed up the printer's calibration, so I still need some time to really dial it in. I will update the thread when I'm back in business. I promise I am working to get it done asap, but right now my car is taking up the garage, but will be out by monday. So I can't even get to the printer until then. I want the printer back up for my own personal.

I contacted the guy that took over for Ryan. He does not have a compact, so has no idea if they are the same. I told him when I do get a compact, I will compare it to my full size and see if they work. If so, he we sell me another set.

Being that the compact is shrunk 15% from the full size, I assume that the plug would be smaller.

Anyone else have a 3d printer that could make these? Or the print file that could be used at thingverse?
