I have had my M&P .22 for close to a year now and never really liked the front sight. It's dull and the dot seemed a little low to me. I replaced it with a Dawson Precision fiber optic and am 100% satisfied. It required a little filing to slide in but that was about it. Switched the red for the green rod and now have a sight picture like my other guns. I like the black adjustable rear the M&P came with but that can be replaced to. It has improved my accuracy a bit and target acquisition is much faster. If you have a M&P 22 this is a must do.
What height? Did you have any elevation problems to begin with? My rear sight is lowered all the way and it still shoots high... I thought about getting the .18 height one to compensate...
I installed the same sight on my 22 and several other M&Ps I have. They are great especially for my old eyes. I also found that if you don't follow the instructions but carefully leave the heat on a little longer the bulb will expand further making it larger and easier to see. It then matches the size of the Novak that came on my pro version.
This is on my M&P9c, a Dawson front sight I drilled out and installed a .060 FO rod. Counterbored a spot over that for the expanded bulb to fit into. Fills up the width of the front sight. Since this picture was taken, I've installed a Novak rear FO sight with green rods.
