I went to the range this morning with my Shield .40 for the first time. I picked it up a few weeks ago. I waited so long because it is my first gun and I wanted to familiarize myself with it, get used to handling it, field stripping/cleaning, etc.

I put 110 rounds through it with no FTF's and no FTL's. There wasn't nearly as much recoil as I was expecting. Overall it was a great range trip.

Best of all...the white dots are still in the sights.

Good to hear. I pick up my Shield .40 tomorrow morning. Hope I can takie it to the range before this weekend. What ammo were you using?

The first 50 rounds were Winchester 165gr FMJ, 20 rounds of Speer Gold Dot 180gr GDHP, Hornady 165gr Zombie-Max and 20 rounds of Winchester PDX1 Defender 180gr BJHP.

They all went bang. Got the best grouping with the Winchester Defenders. That and/or the Hornady will by my carry round.
