Default Shield front sight

Just purchased a 9mm shield. Went to the range and after 30 rounds the white dot on the front site fell out. Do i need to send the gun back or call for a replacement. Any one else had this issue.

They will ask you to send it back so they can sight it in after they replace the front sight. I lost one of my rear night sights and they sent me a shipping label to send it in so they could shoot it and make sure that it was sighted in properly. Fingernail polish and a toothpick works good on the white dot.

I REALLY wish they'd put a "Sticky" about this at the top of the M&P Pistol thread. This question comes up so often, it IS NOT funny.

As don3221 said, you can contact S&W and have them replace it, you can just apply your own paint, or if you want to put a different sight on it anyway, go ahead and do so.

A little searching of this forum, and you'll find this question repeated and answered with various thoughts a number of times.

Thanks for the information. I am going to fix it myself. Just surprized that S&W has not fixed the issue.
Where did you find the truglo sites?

If the factory sights are obtained from a Vendor, there's not a lot S&W can do about the Vendor's QC (other than finding another Vendor.
If though the sights are made In-House, then yes, they should address it, since it's simply a matter of the sight not being completely degreased prior to painting the dot into the socket.

Every manufacturer has this problem periodically, you can find similar threads on all the Forums.

Q: How does one insure that a Thread will NEVER get read?
A: Make it a Sticky.
