New to owning a handgun. I have the M&P 22, and I have taken it out twice to shoot. I have field stripped and cleaned everytime. I have been told that the part inside the slide that holds the firing pin get dirty to, but not sure how to clean that out. Should I get some of that spray solvent to hose that down good??

If you do, do it in a clean closet or somewhere you won't lose the three friggin springs... Mine was gross because I oil it too much.

If you are new to shooting why totally disassemble your gun? Springs and pins get lost easily. Get some Gunscrubber spray, or non chloronated brake cleaner, and give it a shot and you will be fine. I have seen these guns shoot thousands of rounds with minimal attention paid to the striker channel. Keep oil or grease out of there and shoot away.
