Default Changing out MP9c front sight

How do you get the front sight blade off on a 9c? I don't see any set screw holding it on or does it have to be done by a gunsmith?

Chuck the slide up in a well padded vise. They make hard rubber inserts for regular vises. Put tape over the sight and over a copper or aluminum square stock, about 6 inches long. Also put some thick oil or light grease over the tape on both of them. Drive it out. The tape and lubricant protects the finish on the sight. The new sight should go in about one third of the way by hand. Drive it in, after taping and lubing both sides again.

Both the front and rear sights are pushed out the ejection port side (right side as you hold the gun). They also go back in from that side. Take a pencil and mark where the sights are before removing (or measure with a micrometer).

The front can be REALLY tight. A sight tool works best.

Strongly recommend using a Maryland Gun Works (MGW) sight tool. It will do a good job and save a lot of grief. If you are near Northern Virginia, I would loan you mine.
