Cleaning the cleaning supplies
I love giving my Shield a nice cleaning and inspection after a day at the range. Kinda like a one on one or a date. Cleaning the gun is not the problem. How do I clean my brushes and all the other cleaning supplies after a few hard uses? What do ya'll do?

Dip them in Hoppes # 9 and blow them out with compressed air.

I consider my bore brushes a consumable, just like my patches, except they get more than one use. I don't bother cleaning them beyond a shake or a blow. I buy my solvent in quart bottles, then decant into a 2oz. bottle that stays in the cleaning kit. I figure I can live with that level of contamination. I always pull the rod thru a clean patch before attaching any accessory, and will also wipe the jag or slotted tip before use.
Been managing my cleaning gear this way for 50+ yrs now, haven't rusted a bore yet.

I agree that the brushes aren't worth cleaning since they're so cheap. I give whatever cleaning rod I'm using a wipe down to remove any debris or solvent but I don't do much besides that.

I spray my brass brushes with the sprayer at my kitchen sink, and shake off the excess water, and let them air dry on occasion. Same with my nylon bristled brush.

Same thing except mine air dry. Only takes a couple of minutes.
Plain water or compressed air simply will not remove all the crud.
