m&p .22 mag disconnect
is there anyway to get this gun to fire without the mag inserted into the magwell or is that just the way it is...lol, idk why but i just dont care for it, i wouldnt carry a defense gun with that "option"

I prefer to have the mag safety in this gun as insurance against unintentional dry-fires, but that's just me.

i removed mine. it wasnt intentional at first but as i had the gun stripped down to clean and polish all the internals i realized i didnt want to put it back.
its fairly easy to remove, just follow a thorough field strip video and leave out the one piece.

not a defense gun for me either, i have others to choose from, i just dont like that you cant shoot it without the mag inserted

I would recommend sliding the pin that holds the lever out, then slowly unscrewing the two Philips screws until you can wiggle it out rather than taking it all the way apart as it takes three hands to set all the other springs into place again...

I guess I've left mine in for the time being. While I'm not a fan of magazine disconnects, it doesn't really bother me here. I will never turn to this pistol for real world defensive uses (NOT a big believer in .22LR for defensive use other than desperate last resort options) so it's not a big deal to me.
