Got 500 flawless rounds thru my XDs9. Trigger is great and quite accurate out of the box. The XDm9 is flawless as well. But I still like the M&P's. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1374003174.138401.jpg

I believe its particular weapons, as we know all is different from one another. But it just goes to show that problems dont just reside within S&W.

The only thing i disliked about my XDS 9mm besides the grip was the added weight. Although its not much weight difference. My Shield seemed to carry easier due to the lack of added weight.
I guess u could carry lighter grain ammo in the XDS and heavier grain ammo in the Shield and probably have about the same weight though.

The OP by Smitty was showing that the XDs will also stick out of battery, as some Shields do. Not a negative comment on the operation of the Xds. Some Shield owners stated they would never carry a gun that can be knocked out of battery and some indicated they were going to buy the Springfield XDs. Well this video shows that the grass is not always greener, across the brands, I mean street.
There is a very long thread, on this forum, about Shield out of battery. It has be overly discussed.

Exactly!!!!!!
It wasnt intended to pun the XDS owners. It was just a little added flavor to the pudding. We always see the Shield problems that everyone seems to like to point out and through a hissy fit over. So i decided i'd shed a little light on the problems that are also arising from the XDS.
I know Shield has this problem fro a few users. But I wonder why XDS didnt investigate this before they started their building process. I would have thought, they would have better designed the small flaw that seemed to be in the Shield. I didnt expect them to make the same mistake.

My xds 45 will do what the Shield does but so far my xds 9 does not. All total non factors and all excellent guns

Hanging out of battery is a feature, not a problem. S&W and Springfield intentionally design and manufacture their respective guns to hang out of battery. The problem is that some of the Shields and XDSs manufactured refuse to hang out of battery. Guns that hang out of battery are highly sought after as a symbol of manufacturing excellence in a fighting gun.
