New Menber from NE Ohio
Just received my new M&P9 with Crimson Trace Grips, haven't put a round through it yet but certainly looking forward to. I recently saw some YouTube vibs about Apex trigger kits and look forward to researching the forum to see what the real 411 is.

And a warm welcome from “wild and wonderful “ West Virginia at least that’s what they tell us.

Welcome from Missouri. I have a 9c and so far I love it. Why do you want to change the trigger? If you are going to carry it, many would recommend that you leave it stock. People also say that the trigger will improve after shooting lots of rounds through it. I thought about doing the Apex treatment on my 9c, but decided against it since it will be my EDC gun. My gun is new and the trigger does not appear to be that bad. I love things that just get better and better with age and from what I have been reading the M&P guns are that way. The more you shoot them, the better the trigger is.

Welcome from Wisconsin!
I wouldn't do anything to the trigger other than polish the trigger bar if you feel any grittiness. You might be able to save your money by not buying an Apex kit as good as they are. For SD carry I'd say the triggers on the newly manufactured M&Ps are more than adequate. If you decide to get the Apex kit & if something goes wrong with your pistol remove it & put the original back in. If you have to send it back to S&W for warranty work of any kind they'll remove it & install a factory trigger group in it & charge you for parts & labor.

Welcome!!
I agree with MSG Glenn. Save your money. I polished the striker release ramp on the trigger bar ever so slightly. This took a really great trigger and made it an absolutely fantastic smooth trigger.

Thanks to all for the welcome, Glen I do believe I will take your advise and run some rounds through it before a trigger kit. I don't believe I feel the grittiness that is spoken about so maybe mine is one that got a good deburing. Can someone explain the process for polishing internals, like what materials and process.

I agree. I just recently purchased the 40compact was concerned all the talk about the trigger action. I personally didnt see any difference. When I shot it. I put 150 rounds. I love this gun. I'm looking for the 9mm version. I highly recommend this gun. It's accurate and smooth follow up shots.
