Default M&P 22 MULTIPLE FTE

OK, I have shot 550 rds thru this gun with no problems using CCI mini mags & CCI standard velocitys. Never had a problem until today. Today I went thru 100 rds of CCI mini mags and then switched to CCI Standards.(100 total) Was on my last fifty rds (CCI standards) reloaded a new mag, noticed that a rd would not chamber. Released the mag and saw that a casing was still I'd the chamber. Had to use a bore rod to get out the casing. Put in new mag, chambered a round and fired. One rd and then FTE. Did this five times with different mags. FTE after first round. I've cleaned this gun after each use. About 150 rds per use. This morning (before I went to the range) was the first time I cleaned around the face of the firing assembly and the extractor using Hoppesm#9'solvent. Worked fine until I did this. Am I supposed to just leave the extractor dirty? ***. Not happy. Bought this because I want a reliable gun . Expect a few malfunctions but not five in a row.

sounds like 2 different problems-- I had same
stuck in the chamber---I clean chamber VERY well with Hoppes Elite and a bore brush.
FTE --- make sure slide is going all the way back. I now use a small amount of Shooters Choice gun grease on the rear of the slide track.
Have not had problem since.

You can find CCI, lucky you.

I always bring some Q-tips and wipe off the chamber and feed ramp in the middle of a range outing. It helps. If the slide not going all the way back is a factor, it would be more of an issue with the standard velocity, since they don't have the same power as the mini-mags. Technically they're subsonic, although just barely. They cycle fine in most semi-autos, but if something is causing marginal ejection, it will be worse with those than the minis--Bob

I don't have an M&P 22 but I do have a Browning Buckmark. I have had FTE problems which I'm still working on, I have a new extractor coming.

It sounds like you may have a chamber problem, one of the ways to check the chamber in a Buckmark is to do a "Plop Test", when you have the barrel removed drop a round in the chamber, it should go in easily and make a plop noise, you'll no when you hear it. If the round meets any resistance then you may have to clean some more or you may have some high spots.

Make sure the face of the slide where the base of the round seats is completely clean, look at it with a jewelers loop. Clean the extractor really well and inspect the face for damage. Hope you get it figured out, I know the frustration you're going through.
