another M&P Shield first range outing...
... I finally got an M&P Shield 9mm this week; supply catching up with demand(?). Getting one has been a long time coming.
Saturday, between son and I, we shot 100 each of factory Winchester WB and 100 each of reloads (124gr JHP, Precision Delta) and the firearm performed flawlessly. As most other reviews have mentioned, the pistol was quiet accurate and was a blast to shoot.
I do not see me making any changes to the gun in the foreseeable future, as the sights and trigger are quiet adequate as they are. It looks as though I may have gotten one of the good ones.
In preparation for next weekend, I have already started reloading more JHP's this morning.
Thanks for reading...

Congrats on the successful outing. I'm assuming it was quite accurate rather than "quiet accurate." I know mine's not quiet. Louder than my larger Springfield due to the shorter barrel. (Yet the recoil isn't any more noticeable.)

Thanks for the range report Fgolfer. I am seriously considering the purchase of a Shield in 9mm. I have found a good deal on one at PSA, but I just can't seem to take the first step. Had it in my cart, but didn't follow through. I guess I need a push. Maybe I really want a 40 cal instead.

Congratulations. I had a 9mm Shield that ran everything I fed it.
Enjoy, Frank.

Two thumbs up on mine with about 200 or so rounds. Dollar per dollar hard to beat a Shield.

Another range outing with Shield 9mm
After 400+ trouble free rounds through the Shield, I have determined that I prefer the 7 round mag's to the 8 rounder. I'd be willing to trade the like new 8 round for a 7 round in similar condition. I've added a gratuitous pic:

Impactguns.com has the Shield 9mm for $388.
I purchased my Shield 9 mm April 2012 one week after release date and lost track of rounds fired after 1,500. I think because I never had any issues it became pointless to track round count.
The day after Thanksgiving this year extended family went shooting in the Utah desert and more than 10 different shooters tried out my Shield with zero issues.
I am very pleased with the accuracy and reliability. I see no reason to part ways until I depart and then I hope it stays in the family to enjoy.
