Greetings Everyone...

Went to the range with a friend of mine today. Fired MP 45 and Glocks 17 and 19.

Fired at 15 yards off hand, most all rounds 90 % went into the black on a standard Shoot and See. I do not shoot that often, last time I fired it was probably 7 months ago.

My Glocks... I tried really hard to hit with them. I found shooting them was difficult for me especially my 19. This is not a Flame! I understand that lots of people swear by them which is great. I am looking to trade one in for a MP9 FS or MP9 C.

My long time friend fired it, ( not a SW Auto Fan ), he shoots weekly and can really shoot well. He fired my MP 45 and was amazed not only by its accuracy but by the trigger pull as well! For him to say that says a lot.

Yes, I will be looking to trade in my one of my Glocks, probably the 19 for a new MP 9 or MP 9 C.

BTW my trigger on MP45 is stock, born on April 2010.

i would post a picture of my target, but don't know how!

Best

Mine is my favorite gun as well. The sights are regulated spot on for 230 grain, at least mine is. I fire 230 ball for range, and keep a magazine of Federal HST on nightstand. If needed, slap mag in gun good to go.

I'm slowing switching from the Glock platform to S&W MPs latest was like you and MP .45 full size, thumb safety, BTW mine does not have the stainless roll mark on the slide, yours?

Mine does have stainless roll mark on the slide. I imagine they are still stainless but they decided to eliminate the roll mark.

I really trying to like my Glocks, just don't work as well for me. My 19 will probably be traded for a MP9.

The M&P45 is a great gun, shoots really nice.
I've owned Glocks too and found that changing the backstrap dramatically improved my shooting with it. Do you have the interchangable backstraps for your Glock? Maybe try the next strap up or down to see if it makes a difference. When I went to the medium backstrap the gun felt better in my hand, and moved around less in recoil. I started to shoot pretty well with it then. That said, I shot just as well, if not a little better with my M&P45 right out of the box.

Thanks JPriest

That might work, however the Gen 4 Glocks are not approved for California. Nice to know our state has a roster of "safe" handguns. The Gen 3 Glocks were grandfathered. When I retire someday, I am leaving Calif!

Rob, shoot what you like but like what you shoot. I have a Glock 17 gen 2 and shoot it well, but my Gen 4 19 not so much. For one, it has a harder trigger pull and I need to relearn it. But I also added a "Grip Force" adapter and it has helped. You may try one (for the price) before selling your firearm. Here's a link to their site....hope it helps.

Thanks Bruce for info. If I had to do over again, which I might do, I would of just bought the MP series and use one platform. No switching back and forth.

Glocks are fantastic guns, not berating them at all. When I hold or fire my Glock, then my MP I am like wow!

I also have big fingers...trigger guard much nicer for me on MP. I just might bite the bullet ( no pun ) lol and make a trade at the dealer.

I might get the MP 45C and standardize on one caliber but MP9 or 9C be nice as well.

Best
