I recently purchased a brand new M&P 9c and it has been flawless for the first 200 or so rounds. Last week I took it to the range and experienced 3 failure to feeds out of 50-60 rounds. The failures occurred using both magazines that I had. I took the gun home to clean and oil it. Took it back to the range yesterday and experienced another 3 failure to feeds as well as 1 light primer strike. I then examined both magazines carefully and noticed that the two rounds before the last round hang on the lip of the magazine. It happens very consistently. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm currently in the process of contacting S&W about this issue. Thanks guys!

Is it possible to try different ammo?
It might not be the gun. A lot of people experience mixed results with different ammo.

Thanks for the reply. I've tried 4 different brands of ammo (ball ammo to premium home defense) and even snap caps and it happens with all of it.

I get the hang ups on all Winchester brands, Hornady Critical Duty, and snap caps. Speer Gold Dot appears to run the best through it.

Does it happen with all the magazines?

Yeah... of the two magazines I have the ammo gets stuck on the front edge of the magazine around the collar of the bullet. I was surprised by this because everything I read states M&Ps feed almost anything.

Can you show us pics of this issue? Did you by chance switch your magazine release to the other side of the pistol?

OK, it's both mags. Yes, pics would help. Are the rounds hanging up on the feed lips? By "collar" so you mean the rim of the cartridge?
