Brought the little guy home this after noon after picking him up at my local gun store I had it sent to. Got the little guy off buds for $441. Was thinking of the shield but decided on the compact in the end. Not sure when I'll get to take it out and run some rounds through it being winter and that it will be a little while before I get to sign up at a local gun range I have in mind. Am thinking of doing an Apex trigger kit and some night sights. My S&W collection has now grown to 3. Two .40's and one AR-15.

Congrats on the new addition to the collection! I have a 40FS and Shield 9, but I am going to go look for a 9C tomorrow to carry while my Shield is back at S&W for repair. They really are addicting. I have traded off all but one of my "other brand" guns for M&Ps.

I have the FS 40 and was looking at the 40c to replace my 380 for carry but bought the M&P 22lr instead for cheaper shooting...am now saving up for the 40c...congrats on your new addition...:)

Thanks guys. I gave it a good cleaning and frog lubed it. I also plan on stippling the grips like I did on my FS. The compact feels really good in my hand which is the main reason I picked it over the shield. I dont have big hands but it just felt better in my hands over all. All of these guns must be related!

Well............ not to rain on the parade, but I have a 638 snubbie on order.
Need something for pocket carry, still love the auto's. I rotate the 2 out every 3-4 months. The pocket carry will be for suit and tie stuff. (very rare).

I think I'm really going to like this gun a lot, just need the damn snow to start making a retreat so I can get out and try it out. I shot once in the winter last year and it sucks between the cold and the snow and losing your brass in the snow

I got one too. Aren't they great? Well, actually, I don't really know first had yet. I haven't fired mine either. Of course these sunny days and 70°F temps really put a damper on shooting. Man, I hope we get some good weather soon.:D (sorry, couldn't resist)

Actually I've been practicing for an upcoming class and that has taken all my time. Since I'm using a different gun for that, the .40c sits. Soon though I'll push some lead through it.

Don't let the snow stop you. I am in Idaho and shoot all year round. The trick to not losing your cases in the snow is to spread out a tarp to catch them!

Damn you west coast cali people.

I cant shoot at my house b/c there are other houses to close and once the weather gets warmer one of the guys from work is taking me as a "guest" to the range he shoots at and I'll get all signed up there as a member and be able to do a lot more shooting this summer.

I'm going to stop by my ffl Monday to pickup the 9c. I thought it was the last M&P I would buy but I'm already getting the itch to buy either another 5" pro or a FS then have the grip chopped.

That's just mean, I live in FL, but you don't see me rubbin' his nose in it.:D

May have to wear long pants tomorrow? High of 68 also.

Yeah, we suck. Don't worry though, we get cold weather here too. Only just last night it got all the way down to 43°F and it hasn't got past 68°F today. Brrrrrr!:D

I just picked up a 40c as well. It will also be the smaller sibling to the 40 FS that I have had of a year or so. I felt it was now or never as the 40c was falling off the roster (and did 01-31-14). $439 plus all the state BS. I also pick up am M&P22 for the same reason.

Good call. It was a "now or never" situation. Even if the lawsuit is won, it'll be more than a year before we see the benefits. That was also an excellent price. I paid about $80 more for mine. I'm not sorry though, great little gun.

I've had a Shield 40 for a while; but have come to the realization that I am much more accurate with a 9mm, especially when it comes to follow-up shots. That, and the ammo for the 9mm is much cheaper. So, I decided to sell my Shield 40 and get a M&P 9c. Only reason I decided the 9c over the shield is the capacity; it holds twice as many rounds as the Shield 9, which is something that appeals to me.

I get to pick it up tomorrow; I can't wait :D

Pretty easy to convert the M&P .40 over to a 9MM, cheaper then buying a new gun. I plan on getting a 9MM barrel for my FS as soon as they come back in stock a midway. 40 ammo is not a sparse around here as 9mm either.
