M&P 40 mag release not dropping?

I have a two month old M&P 40 (CA) that I like a lot

Have shot about 1500 rounds with no failures and it shoots better than me

The two standard 10 rd mags that came with my new M&P40 don't eject very smoothly when I push the mag release. I actually have to pull them out. Mag comes out easy but would think it should pop out for faster reload and response time.

Any ideas, thoughts?
