New to the M&P family. Just got my wife a brand new new 9c pistol (and had to get a shield for me) on Friday. While showing her how to disassemble/reassemble her 9c, we kept running into the issue of the takedown lever rotating just enough to snag the slide and cause the slide to stop/jam during reassembly. We then have to back the slide off a bit and hold the takedown in place to be able to finish reassembling.
I've been reading about other owners having TDL issues where they hold the lever down during disassembling, but has anyone else had these issues when putting it all back together?
The 9c's TDL feels loose and has a fair amount of play after field stripping. My shield's TDL is a firm, but smooth rotation all the way through and stays locked in place while up or down or during field strip/reassemble with no play. None of my past or current pistols that have a TDL have ever had a lever this loose.
Is it common thing that we just have to learn to account for? Or is it something to send back to S&W for warranty since it hasn't even seen the range yet?
