Default Please help a newbie revitalize his gun

hey guys new to the forum and S&W. After moving from NY (where they make it almost impossible to own handguns) to PA I saw a M&P 4.25" .40 used for $399 I picked it up, liked it , started carrying it and got bored with it. I was told to try a glock because of the aftermarket which I did and I noticed their are a lot of parts for the smith.

I have had an OEM 357 barrel on back order for months can anybody reccomend an aftermarket company with higher quality pref extended a bit for velocity and a comp or porting?
Do match extended 40 barrels exist?

Also can you guys reccomend a good recoil spring setup? I started running underwood ammo and experienced my first painful recoil and ftf and fte and the slide locking itself back even with more rounds to go.

I am assuming for accuracy the best thing to do is by that APEX FSS kit for like $160 unless their is a cheaper way and also to get some good sights. This gun had a lot of use color was gone from the sights so I bought tru-glo Brite sights tritium.

If anyhbody can point me in the right direcrtion for match barrel and springs I would much appreciate it.
I would also love to hear experiences with these products.

Thanks Guys

My advice, shoot a lot of rounds through it before spending a bunch of money. That way you'll have a reference for how well your modifications are working, and do one at a time. If you change a bunch of stuff and your shooting gets worse, you won't know what caused it.
