Aftermarket sights
Do you guys have any recommendations on aftermarket sights for my M&P Shield?
Where do you recommend I get them from?
Thanks!

I got the TRUGLO TFO green for my Shield. Good both day and night. Must have Sight tool for installation. Can not be hammered on. Shop around the price varies all over the place. I got mine on Ebay and two days later I found it for $10 less with another dealer..

I bought Truglo TFO sights and had them installed by Nick at XD-HS2000.COM. Also had him install my Apex USB while he was at it. Buy your sights from him and the install is FREE. Shipping just your slide to him is easy using USPS Priority Mail - Instructions are on his website. His turn around was about 8 days door to door. Click HERE for his website.
I also considered Trijicon HD sights like the ones installed on my G17 Gen4 but the TFOs won out on my Shield. Very low profile and outstanding sight picture in any lighting condition.

Don't really know what you're looking for, but you might check out Ameriglo. They have everything from black to painted to fiber to tritium night sights, no dot, three dot and everything in between. I think its a good place to start just to see the many options available. The last few months I've looked at everything out there, and have come to the conclusion that for me personally, for what my Shield is used for, my modified factory ones work just fine for now. I am partial to the Pro I Dots though, but right now its a "hassle" and "need" thing, and "hassle" is winning. Have fun and be safe with your gun and your search.

Another for TruGlo TFO. Have them on my 40c. Love 'em.
I got them open box return from Amazon, and I got the yellow back, green front as well.

Was the Truglo model number TG131MP? Did they fit your Shield well? No over hang off the sides? If so, They sound like what I'm looking for.

I use Ameriglo Pro Idot and am very satisfied. I use the two dot Heinie style sight picture for these old tired eyes.
Steel and target shooting is easy and fun. I'm confident that they would be effective if needed in any combat situation.
Sights are like anything in the shooting sport. Practice, practice, practice!

The TFO's being sold now should be a newer version that does not have overhang on the shield. I bought mine last fall and had my local gunsmith install 'em.....he has the older version on his shield and the new ones are slightly narrower to fit the shield. Great sights too, I love 'em.

My AmeriGlo I dots work in all light conditions and are very easy to pick up.

Novak front and rear on my two: one, a front tritium night sight, the other, a 14 kt. gold bead. Both with Novak wide notch plain black rear sights.

I'm another fan of the Ameriglo I Dot Pro sights. I bought the lime green one and it really stands out.

I have used FO sights on a carry gun and did not care for them. I prefer tritium and have used Heinies on several guns for years. I also have a set of Trijicon Orange HDs on my baby Glock. IMHO, the FOs are great for range or competetion, but tritium still rules for the real world.

I've had Ameriglo and big dot and like them both equally, the ameriglo had the orange dot/tritium. Big dot is white/tritium and larger.
Like um both...

Warren tactical tritum sights for me...here is another users post with photos about these sights:
Installed Warren Tactical Night Sights on my new M&Pc
Mine are exactly the same, except the rear sight has no white outline (still has tritium, but no white on the rear), thus making it simpler and draws the eye more to the front sight.

Just installed at set of Trijicon night sights on my 9mm Shield, they fit well and work well. Lousy Pic but it shows both day/night function of sight.
I'm going to do a separate post later on the difficulties with removal of stock sights and ease of installing after market sights
