hey guys new m and p owner here!
just got the m and p 45 full sized 4.5 inch barrel

ive been look for a shoulder holster system to carry this gun as i work outside in the cold with a jacket on so i need some comfortable.
ive been looking at the galco miami classics specifically

Amazon.com : Galco Miami Classic Shoulder System for S&W M&P 9/40 (Black, Right-hand) : Gun Holsters : Sports & Outdoors@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/310ctaEyMHL.@@AMEPARAM@@310ctaEyMHL

only problem is it says for m and p 9/40 doesnt say anything about the 45.
although it does say it will fit 3-5" barrels which i would think would be enough.
however when i checked the dimensions.
9/40 full sized are 1.2 x 5.5 x 7.5 inches
and 45 are 1.2 x 5.5 x 7.75 inches

would that quater in make a whole lot of difference? would it still fit? ive tried doing research on the net and no luck with any specifics for this gun.

what shoulder holster options do you guys use?

Thanks!:p

Shoulder holsters are best left to TV detectives.

They are miserable to wear and very, very slow.

Something on your belt is infinitely more comfortable and at least as accessible: got to open the coat in either case.

Just my experience, of course.

i agree that shoulder holsters can be kind of bulky and weird to wear but i currently use a blackhawk OWB holster with jacket over it. and i find annoying when i pump into thing with my hips and potentially damage my gun. (already put a little scratch in it)
which is why something on the chest area would work better for that situation. ive also gotten used to shoulder holsters in the past they just have a longer break in period

You need a leather OWB holster that rides tighter to the body. This DeSantis holster/mag holder combo for my FS45 is amazing and very comfortable. It rides close to the body unlike those paddle holsters.

It's made specifically for the FS45 and although I don't usually go for thumb straps, I wanted the extra retention for outdoor activities beyond just walking around town. http://www.desantisholster.com/THUMB-BREAK-SCABBARD

They're back ordered through them, but you can find it at other stores online.

High Noon makes an Under Taker shoulder harness fit for the 4.5" M&P45, take a look at it, I think you'll like it. The tan cowhide Under Taker is lined and looks great. High Noon Holsters. They're not cheap, but no quality holster is.
