As promised, I am posting my feelings on the Appalachian Concealment appendix carry holster. I was not impressed with this holster at first. I actually put it up for sale. Then I reevaluated it and made a couple modifications to the attachment loop. First, I lowered the ride of the holster by drilling a new hole a bit higher for the loop. I also changed the length of the loop so it would fit tighter on my belt so the loop would not print. I covered the back of the T-bolt used to attach the loop with moleskin so there would be no chance it could scratch my Shield's slide. All in all, after my mods, I am starting to really like this holster. I tried carrying appendix in my Uncle Mikes #4 and while standing/walking was good, sitting and bending was another story. The Appalachian Concealment holster is just a 1/4" shorter than the Uncle Mikes and that makes a big difference. Sitting is not too bad while wearing it. It will definitely help you with bad posture as slouching will not be comfortable. Bending down is still uncomfortable but I don't think any holster in that position would be comfortable while bending forward. I wore it on a long afternoon hike on Sunday and it was pretty comfy, for the most part.

I'm convinced that the key to C O M F O R T A B L E A-carry is this. You must get the top edge of the front-strap, just under the trigger guard, to rest atop your belt or waistband. With a revolver, it's got to tuck to at the least the recoil-shield, if not a bit farther. This gets enough bulk of the pistol INSIDE the restraint of your pants so that the butt or grips don't want to flop-over your waist, either print or losing the gun altogether.

For some time, I've been using somewhat generic-fit nylon rigs, with replaceable Desantis steel belt clips. One each for my K-frame and 9mm's. Both allow enough 'tuck', as I outlined, to accompish this admirably. I've yet to see a leather rig come close, and never on a kydex, until I see your pictured mods. Good job!
