Magazine trouble.
Hey everyone. I'm new to the forums and fairly new to my m&p.22. This group has been a great source of information and hoping someone has some advice. I've had my full size 22 for about 8 months and put about a thousand rounds through it. The last 2 times out I've had some trouble with it. When I seat the magazine I've noticed the round will pop out of the magazine. More than once it's completely come out the top if seated too hard. Sometimes after racking it, the gun won't fire. When I pull the slide back the round never actually loaded in. Every time I put the magazine in I have to gently seat it so it cycles correctly. I bought 2 new magazines thinking it was the problem. Both of them do the same thing. I'm at a loss as to what I should try next. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Chris

Welcome to the forum. Try not using so much force loading your magazine. There is somewhat of a fix for that issue besides being gentile when loading the magazine. It's something having to do with the feed lips on the magazine. I have never had to do the fix, that's why I cannot help you in that area. Someone will chime.

I appreciate it. I literally load it with one finger because anymore force than that it pops out to some degree. I'm afraid that if I ever have to load it in a hurry, I may not load it as gently!

Found this info.
"Slightly pinch the feed lips at the front of where they grip the round only (I used a small vise grip). After pinching the mag, S&W say to use dummy rounds, but I don't have any and with the safety on and aimed in a safe direction, tested it. If you go too far, they won't load, but just enough and the top round doesn't pop up anymore."

Yes, the .22LR can be a bugger. Because the rim stands proud of the case, they don't play well with magazines. The fix above should do it, but be gentle with it.
Welcome to the fun!
