I have 2 M&P Pros and like them a LOT for what they do: defense carry, IDPA, USPSA.
I have over 30 years shooting bullseye. Frankly, I would choose a different platform for bullseye, such as a 952, which starts out a LOT closer to a bullseye gun.
If you absolutely MUST try it with an M&P, I would start with a CORE, buy the full FSS APEX kit, and have our Oklahoma S&W guru (I'm not a gunsmith) blueprint the pistol and see if the needed accuracy can be obtained with an optical sight and a stock barrel. I have my doubts. Might need to use a custom-fit KKM or Wilson barrel, and there is no guarantee the first slide you pick up is going to have enough meat in it to get the precision fit.
Good Luck!
