Recommendations? I prefer something that will "round off" the sharp edges as I'll only use the carrier concealed.

I like the Safariland one, but their web page doesn't list one for the Shield 9mm 7 round magazine.
I am also looking for a horizontal carrier for my Springfield XDS (single stack, 3.3 inch barrel, 7 round).

I reviewed one I really reccomend magholder.com

It's tough to see on his web page, but I do not believe that magazine carrier would work for me. I prefer a closed magazine carrier to reduce printing, snagging, etc. I agree that tactically his carrier cannot be beat, but for my use, I need something more discreet and covered. Sure wish I could find some decent sizing information on the Safariland carrier......either for the Shield or my XD-s 9mm, single stack 7/8/9 round magazines. Two very popular pistols for EDC, yet Safariland doesn't list a model for either, and I KNOW at least the XD-s magazines must surely be close to others of similar size and capacity.

Have you tried a cell phone case? There are many out there that sit horizontally and it's surprising how well they work for this purpose, at least with shorter mags like the Shield or any of the popular .380s. Not to mention, waaay cheaper than many magazine pouches.

I used a SHTF carrier for a while. It carries great and doesn't look like a mag at all. Downside is that it's slow for reloads.

A good idea. I am also checking into cases made for carrying a knife on a belt.
