Are the things evident in these two photos barrel damage?

(1) is that circular indent in the underside of my barrel hood normal? I swear it wasn't there before...

(2) in the second photo of the muzzle crown, if you zoom in and look at about the 10 o'clock or 11 o'clock position, you can just barely make out what looks like a scrape or abrasion on the outside edge

(3) and finally, lastly, it appeared as though I had too much oil on my barrel from lubricating it earlier today; it was too shiny, so I wiped it down, but now I'm afraid to leave it with no oil until I go to the range again this coming week, so should I relubricate just the barrel?

Looks like a brand new pistol to me, you need to shoot it more. (I don't see anything abnormal in your pictures).

In the 1st pic... that indent is not on the barrel hood. The barrel hood (or barrel extension) is on the rear top of the barrel.

The punch mark you are seeing is likely a factory marking indicating a revised barrel.

Your gun does not look to be an M&P being two tone, or is that just the light? If yours is a 9MM M&P they made a change in the later production guns on the rifling twist rate to improve accuracy. Those newer barrels have an mark like that on the undersides to distinguish them from the older ones. You didn't notice it before, but that was there from the factory.

As for the abrasion on the muzzle crown, it's so slight I'm having trouble even finding it.

Oiling of the barrel... sounds like you are way over doing it.

There's really only 2 points where it should be oiled, sparingly. It needs a drop at the muzzle end smeared round the barrel where there is barrel contact with the slide opening when the barrel tilts to unlock and lock with the slide, and the top front edge of where the barrel block meets and engages the slide cut out. I think that's all the manual mentions... I go a tad further and lightly oil the caming surfaces of the lug that extends down on the bottom of the barrel block, and that's it.

Just to ease your possible OCD, all looks good. The pin point mark is so S&W knows what machine made the barrel, some have no marks, one dot and two dots. The slight mark on the barrel is nothing, just a tiny little mark caused through the machining processes. As all have said, your gun is fine and go shoot it. Unless the gun is kept in a moist/humid environment, rust is not likely so you don't need to oil the entire gun. Wipe it off occasionally with a clean soft towel and oil lightly as per the operating manual. Clean and oil the gun before using the first time and repeat after shooting.

Bob is correct about the punch mark. If you like at the inside top of your slide, you might also find some punch marks there. Again, it is an internal code to identify the machine or, in some cases, the vendor, that machined the slide.
