I just bought a Sneaky Pete holster for my 9mm Shield. I thought this holster might be handy for carrying when my clothes don't work for an IWB holster. The box is marked Shield 9mm but I didn't see any markings on the actual holster.

I found this holster to be very tight against the sights and the magazine (the 7 round flat bottom one). The holster bulges out both sides when I insert the pistol. I can compress the sides in and close the flap and it doesn't look tool bad.

Question: Do other Shield/Sneaky Pete owners find the holster to be excessively tight? Does this improve over time?

Thanks for any insight here.

I was also looking at sneaky Pete as well. However, I found TUFF iTuck cell phone and firearm holster. It looks comfortable and so did the review. I place the order directly from their site. Hope others can answer your questions.

That looks pretty cool!

After many nasty emails mine was returned full refund include shipping. I mean nasty emails. Here are some pics of a shield 40. They were quick to blame me for ordering for the wrong gun. Thats why i have the first picture that their label was for the gun i have. Please, give us a review after your new holster/phone case arrives and you get time to test.

Last checked- status "shipped". I'm hoping to get it prior to the holidays rush. Or else it will take forever.....stay tune.

Did you order size 10 as recommended on their site? I am anxious to hear your thoughts. I had considered the sneaky Pete and now I'm glad I saw this thread.

I did ordered a size 10, it's the newest version updated in April 2014 which allows you adjust for longer guns and laser add-on in the future. I have the Shield with CT laser n Sig p238 with no laser, but might add to it in the future. Seller suggested to get the size 10, so I did.

To recap, the Sneaky Pete holster for the Shield is a tad too narrow at the top (based on 2 owners). The Shield can be forced into the holster but both sides bulge at the top. I am disappointed.

TUFF iTuck may be a good solution (pending owner comments) but it is an IWB holster that requires suitable-size pants.

Despite tight fit of the Sneaky Pete, I'll probably keep the holster for the reason I bought it: times when my pants are too tight for an IWB holster, like Piranha or Crossbreed. The Pete is leather and new leather holsters are typically tight, so maybe it'll stretch over time (or is that just wishful thinking).

I pondered the Sneaky Pete for a bit, but never actually tried it.
They do make it for slightly larger pistols too.

Now that I'm hearing how snug they are, if I were to get one, I'd order one for a pistol with slightly larger dimensions than the Shield, like the G26, or a slightly thicker single-stack.

Very cool! Very interested in your objective/subjective review. Maybe even start a new thread using holster name.
Thanks for the info.

SP not a good idea.....

I would never use any type of holster that ID's me as carrying a concealed weapon. If you're going to carry a gun, carry it concealed....not in plain view with a big "SP" visible. That's kind of like most any male seen wearing a fanny pack (unless you're in a swimsuit) is immediately ID'd by any street-wise person (including cops) as someone packing a gun...which also means you're the one likely to be shot-first in any kind of shootout situation.
