I am going to have my slide milled and have a Trijicon RM07 installed on my S&W M&P 9C.

I have noticed that some installations place the RM07 at the rear of the slide and cut a new dove tail in front of the RM07 for the iron sight.

Other installations leave the original dove tail and install the RM07 between the front and rear iron sights.

Is one installation better than the other?

What the pros and cons of the two installs?

I have the M&P CORE with the RMR mounted on mine. I bought this gun so I would not have to send one of my other guns out to have the gunsmith work. Also picked up a KKM 9mm barrel for it. The gun shoots great.

Already have a M&P CORE with RM07 for the home gun. Now looking to modify the 9C with RM07 for my carry.

Chris got it 100% correct. It's an eye thing for me. I don't usually wear my glasses when I am out an about. I am far sighted. I have tried the bifocal thing and it is a none starter.
