Default New shield 9mm, CA compliant

So I fired 150 rounds through the Shield last week. No FTF, no FTE. There were 2 occasions after inserting the 2nd magazine, where the slide release was stuck and I had to manually rack the slide. A couple other times the slide release was just very tough and I had to reinforce the gun with my second hand to release it. The slide release was not smooth at all like on my glock. Any advice?

It's normal. Just keep shooting it, racking it, etc... When I first
Got mine it was the same way

The slide lock on the Shields are not designed to rack the slide by thumbing the switch down like some other pistols. It is called a "slide Lock", not a "slide release"... Dont ask my why, I didnt design the thing. If you just slingshot the slide, ie, pull the slide back & release, it will function like it was designed to..

Thanks, although with my shield I was able to just thumb down the slide lock to release it on several occasions. It only got stuck a handful of times. But in suppose I should get into the habit of racking it with my weak hand just tonerr on the side of caution.
