Quick question...... replaced the sights on my 45 full size today. Under the rear sight is the plunger spring and a flat plate. For the life of me and after drifting the rear sight off half a dozen times I could not get the spring to compress without twisting under the metal plate. I finally took a thumb tack, ground it to fit and used the tack part to go down the center of the spring and hold it in place while I drifted the sight back on. All safety functions work perfectly. Does S&W make a plate with a small post in the center to keep the spring centered? Is there a trick I have missed? I did see on line the tool from Talon Ind., but you would still have to keep it compressed to use the tool... never letting it have come out like I did? Any help, ideas. thoughts would really be appreciate! On another note.......LOVE the night sights!!
