Default Truglo Sights...

Has anyone tried their 'new' "TFX" sights?
I believe it's basically an 'encapsulated' TFO...

Trying to decide among the two...

Thanks

I don't have them, but would go with the new TFX's. Seems like some good upgrades, I especially like the white around the front sight.
Centerfireguns still has them for 105.44 and free shipping, but don't know if that's a competitive price any more.
Here's a thread from back in Feb. that may help.

Appreciate it. I searched for them, but I must have missed that thread.

I have them on my XD and love them. they are much better than the previous version. I also have tried Dawson Precision sights on my 686 for the front sight. Now these are fantastic. The TFX do work in the dark.

Had both on my 40c, EDC. Eventually, cleaner ruined my TFO.
I got them warrantied. While they were off, I got some TFX.
MUCH better than the TFO.
TFO are great for lots of light, and zero light. For so so light, not great.
The white focus ring really makes the TFX Stand out.
The fact that they're sealed better, spend the money on the TFX. It's a better sight, period.

That's exactly what I was wondering....were the improvements worth the added price??

Sounds like they are....I'll be getting a set sometime soon...

Thanks, everyone

I had hoped they would let me get a credit towards tfx. No go.
So,when they replaced them under warranty, I put them on my girl's 9c. She doesn't carry or shoot as much as I do.

Yes...they are absolutely worth the extra coin. The sealed fibers AND white ring make all the difference in the world.

I like the fact the finish is either melonite or some kind of nitride process.

I had Ameriglo IDOT Pros and the rear sight was prone to rusting..

Broke my heart to see that after I just got my slide refinished. Granted it was only in transit 3 days and had rust on the sights like that. (AL to IL during the fall)

While I liked the sight picture, the front sight would dim from carbon eventually. Haven't noticed any issues with the TFX so far.

People complain the front/rear are both green. But it doesn't really matter with the white insert. It really stands out in intermediate light.

I think I'll be putting TFX on everything possible.
