Default Sorta happy new shield owner

So I finally added a shield 40 to my small family of m@ps it joins it's big brother the full size 40 picked it up Thursday after work unfortunately was to late at that point to get to the range but I was able to get there today. Super impressed with how manageable the felt recoil is in such a compact little gun however I only put 25 rounds down range before packing it up with a soar wrist and soar trigger finger. I'm hoping I can blame it on my ridiculous mass compliant trigger which measures an ungodly 11.5# on my way home made a left turn instead of a right and stopped off at the local shop and now there is an apex package sitting on top of the safe waiting for tomorrow's install hopefully I'll be a fully happy shield owner after tomorrow or Sundays trip to the range

I Bought a Early Shield in 40. and the trigger was gritty, creepy and heavy.

The apex kit did the trick, and it's a joy to shoot now.

My girlfriend bought one late last year (Also a 40.)and the trigger was great out of the box. Not quite the apex good, but close enough to not bother changing it.

congrats on your purchase of probably the best CC pistol on the market!

I have a lot of faith in the stopping power of the .40s&w as a defensive round. Thats why I went out & picked up a Shield 40 to add to my growing M&P collection. I ran 200 flawless rounds thru it before loading it up with Federal 180 gr. HST's and now it's my EDC.

Default Wow. I'm sure.....

I'm sure that's going to help. Even I'd go for an Apex for that one.

Welcome to the Shield owners family! Best full power concealable on the market today IMHO.

Thankfully, I live in Florida and out of the box my Shield 40 has the best "striker gun" trigger I have ever owned after about 500 rounds break in, and that includes my Pro 40L with the Apex duty/carry kit and polymer trigger. And that is not to say I am unhappy with the Pro's trigger now at all!

quick question.... if its mass compliant at 11.5#.. and you change this .. could this be used against you in a court of law... i mean why have a 11.5 law.. if it could be changed after market without penalty ... does this law only apply to manufacture or also to the customer.. this question also applies to removal of loaded chamber indicators i read guys talking about doing this all the time ?????? is there a problem with doing his??? if i lived in mass

I'm not 100% sure on how that works but I do know that another local gun shop had a used shield for sale that already had the apex trigger installed and also came with a crossbreed holster and the only reason I chose not to purchase that particular firearm was they were actually asking 75$ more and it was a left handed holster so it did me no good
