Magazine Holder
Can anyone recommend a good magazine holder? I'm looking for one that would attach to a belt and hold two magazines for my m&p shield9. Thanks in advance.

I just ordered a Blackhawk off Amazon I got one yesterday but ordered the double stack by mistake. Was thinking man these things fit loose in this thing but then caught my error and but my 40 S&W mags in it. Great holder with adjustable tension and belt clip size. Don

The problem with the Shield magazine is that it is a semi staggered design.
Just wide enough that a true single stack carrier (like a 1911) won't work.
The choices out there are somewhat limited right now. I like the paddle style carriers (Fobus or Itac) that I use in IDPA.
Sadly not made for the Shield.

Yeah... Being a stagger stacked mag, you really need to make sure that the manufacturer indicates that it will indeed work with a Shield.
I found DeSantis leather double pouch on Amazon and it does work, but even with its tension adjustment screws, it needed to be stretched quite a bit in order to NOT be a nightmare to pull the mags out.
(cram the mags in, crank down the screws, let it set overnight, tighten another rotation or 2, let set again.)
One thing that's nice about it, is that you can wear the mags upright, or sideways. I like having the mags 'cross-draw'.

That's the exact pouch I've been on using with great success for my Shield mags. I also have two others; one is for double stacked for my M&P FS and another single stack for my 1911.

I have had good luck in the past by loosening 1911 kydex mag holders. Just found this place a while back, local shop, nice folks, and they make Shield mag holders.

Magazine Holder
Kytex products are excellent and Brian is an excellent communicator and goes above and beyond in terms of customer service.
I had a question about a custom mag carrier for an older gun and he responded within the hour on a Saturday. He sent pics and measurement info so I could best determine what might work best for me. We exchanged several emails, all for a $20 mag carrier. That is a guy who cares about his customers and his business!
I don't necessarily think he is able to respond that quickly all the time and I certainly didn't expect that quick of a response on the weekend, but he was available at the time and answered all of my questions.
Anyway, I just thought I would share my recent experience for anyone looking for a nice mag carrier. Brian at Kytex seems to really run a nice outfit.
