I've seen photos of it as you posted. I'm sure it will appeal to some. I'm primarily a wheel gun person - I love blued and don't even own a shiny one. That said, my SR9 is a "two tone". I didn't have a choice as that was how it came. I much prefer an entirely blued/black semi-auto. I also like them in the earth tones. But . . . I'm 62 and maybe the younger crowd likes 'em that way? I think that one of the reasons I like 'em all one color is that I carry on the belt - usually with a shirt tail or jacket covering. I have open carried when in AZ and I think with the sun out there, outside, the dark blue/black is less apt to reflect sun and draw attention. But . . that may be in my mind as well?
I have wondered one thing though . . . with the popularity of the Shield as it is . . . has the sale of the 380 Bodyguard declined? Has S & W had to change things up a little with it in order to make it more appealing to the masses? I suppose there are those who prefer the .380 and the size of it but I would think the Shield sales must be affecting the BG sales some?

Seems flashy for something that would be used for deep concealment.

Yes but you might want to pull it out and show the scumbag before you shoot him. Don

Yes, you might bewilder and dazzle him. He might turn and run, or drop in his tracks!

I like the looks but wish the size was closer to the 9c instead of the Shield.

Never bought a firearm because of it was fancy or Purdy . Only that It fills a need . Figures it would be a Elliot bros edition.

They changed the look but have they fixed all the problems? I would be interested in another one (all black) if they are fixed. I don't want another unfixable lemon like the first one I had.

That is NOT a new redesigned bodyguard per se but rather a custom engraved slide that is available as an option.
I like the stainless look, but wished they did away with the g@y @ss engraving.

A tastefully engraved melonite black slide on the NMS 9mm Shield is a MUCH better idea, in my opinion.

On a carry gun I would perfer less engraving. My reason is that sweat/oils/dirt whatever can collect in the engraving making cleaning more difficult than it should and a potential place for rust/corrosion to form... A carry gun goes thru a rough environment and a smooth outer surface is much easier to keep clean & maintain...
