I dont know how to best describe the problem. Bottom line is, my Shield trigger is acting up. I just found that out today, while dry firing, there are times when, pulling the trigger, I dont hear the usual sound of the striker being released or fired. Kinda like the trigger is hang up(?). If I release the trigger and pull it again, then it disengages or fires the striker.
I made a short video to best show whats going on.
Help!

Watch this Apex Video it may be this, trigger bar adjustment. I don't know for sure as I don't have your pistol in hand to look at it.

I would have a quality Gun Smith look at it or send it back to S&W to be looked at.

Good luck,

I have a feeling the issue is with the trigger loop. A while back I asked about it here, http://smith-wessonforum.com/smith-...4390-sear-trigger-loop-engagement-normal.html Only half the width of the loop engages or slides under the sear. Someone said its normal, so I let it go.
The loop though, is showing scrape/wear marks on the side that touches the sear, its being unevenly scraped. My guess is, the scrape marks has gone bad or deeper and as I pull the trigger, the loop slips to the right or disengages from the sear.

Any idea if S&W will just send a trigger bar, instead of asking for the gun to be sent back?

Nope. They won't. They will send you a shipping label and, if its a warranty issue they will get to it pretty quickly. Some have said they were able to beg and plead for the parts but I could not even get them to ship to their own dealer's gunsmith.
Good luck!

^ Yeah, I just called them today, and right after trying to describe the problem, the rep just said it'll have to be looked at by their "specialist". Asked for my email addy and said she's sending me a return label with instructions.

What's the fastest turn around time anyone has experienced when returning their gun/s for warranty service? Would a month be a reasonable time?

Two weeks was the turn around for the two warranty repairs I sent in this year.

Just a simple description of the problem written and included with the gun. Tell them any problems, since you want the trip to count. Don't try to explain what you think is wrong, just the end problem.

I've found that describing the problem with too many observations on what might be wrong confuses the process, and sometimes sends the smith down the wrong path, only to find out later that he fixed the part, but I still had the problem.

Thanks for the tip hoc9sw, thats more likely what I'll do.

This is my first time to send a gun back for warranty service. If the CS agent said she's sending me a return label, how long does that usually take to send? she asked for my email addy, but its already the end of the day and I have'nt received an email from them?
