I bought what is supposed to be a new M&P 22LR Pistol from a gun dealer , I specifically asked if it was new and they said yes. Like a dummy I didn't inspect it in the store as I have bought from them before without issue. I get it home and strip it for cleaning and the feed ramp is highly polished. Wouldn't one expect it to be pretty much black like the rest of the barrel ? The envelope with the spent cartridge which does match the s/n says 2013 which I find odd when guns are selling so fast

How can you tell the gun is 2013?
Is there an guideline to tell how old the gun is?

I just bought also an .22, and read that some people encounter difficulties with the feeder/ejecter. Therefor the gunshop maybe had polished it already? But I think it was better that he told you this before buying the gun.

The envelope that comes with the gun that has the required spent cartridge fired by that pistol at the factory has the s/n of the pistol and has the date
I'm going to call them today , the unfortunate part it is 130 mile round Thanks for the reply

Ok that is good news, my SD9VE is stainless steel so no comparison for me . I fairly new to pistols . I need to get to the range to give it a workout I guess but not sure when that is going to happen, outside range, 1 degree F out today and freezing rain forecast for Sat
Thanks

target

I did get to the range today, ran about 100 rounds through it without issue. Started with CCI copper round nose and finished with cheap lead nose target ammo. Very happy with it :)
(larger holes from 9mm)
