Default Apendix holster question

I have a shield and have been trying to carry apendix. I find it is one of the best ways to carry a pistol but I have some issues when Im not standing. I carry my pistol in a cheap bladetech clipit holster. I was wondering if I got a leather holster if it would help make it more comfortable to carry then the kydex?

If so what holsters does everyone recomend?

I just started to carry that way too. I us a Desantis pocket-tuk which is OK for appendix. I have this same type post on another forum about trying to figure how to sit. One suggestion that I have been trying I'd to hike the pistol up a little or angel it some.

I use an Aliengear Tuck 2-0 for appendix carry. I altered the cant to almost a 90 degree's and find it very comfortable when sitting or standing.

You could find adding a larger than holster piece of leather to the back side of your kydex clip on could make to feel far better than it does now . Round off the corners and soften the inside edge and Velcro it on .

Foxx Holsters has a small very adjustable kydex holster a few of these are in use in our family . Deluxe Trapp is the model . Its adjustable up and down and cants for and aft . For appendix carry canted to the rear keeps the grip from digging in and raised just enough for a clean grip . Precision Holsters also has some Hybrids that may work even better
Foxx - FoxX Holsters "Deluxe Trapp" IWB Holster (All Kydex) – Foxx Holsters LLC

I appendix a tp40 kahr or a p320 compact in a old modified comp-tac neutral with different kydex bodies for different handguns carried just in front of my hip bone layed back so the grip is parallel to my belt . Loose untucked shirt with a pistol with that size grip !

Check out the elit line - Precision Holsters

I have the Klipt also and had to file off and round out the top edges - it was too rough/squared for me. This greatly improved my comfort. I just kept going until it felt better.

Also, since my spare tire seems to be increasing instead of the other, often when I carry appendix and sit down, I discreetly adjust the top of the holster so it isn't digging straight into my "tactical" pillow.

I also have the Bladetech, but I have been using my N82 Tactical Pro. It is sooooo comfortable......sitting, standing....whatever. I carry appendix.

Garett Industries make a couple of nice kydex holsters you can get leather lined .. easy to carry any where from appendix to 5:30 with the GX model .. and I have found them to be comfortable .. I have one for my 40c and also for my Sig P238 in the GX model leather lined ..

I first tried a kydex from Cook's Holsters, but as you had stated too many problems with sitting. The best luck I've had with appendix carry is a N82 holster. https://www.n82tactical.com/

ignoring holster choices for a moment, any of you have any concern about what body parts you're aiming at if an accidental discharge occurred when drawing or re-holstering? Seems like it's impossible not to point the pistol at the body during those motions which I was always taught not to do.

I have a Blackhawk IWB hard plastic holster and also a Sticky Holster and I like them both.. I tend to use my Sticky Holster a little more, but when my wife is carrying hers and I'm carrying mine, it is in the Blackhawk'

Can't go wrong with either one..

I just couldn't get AIWB to work for me, standing and moving around is great but it has to go somewhere when you sit down. I am keeping a thin, cheap holster for this type carry for when the gun absolutely don't need to be seen or a print seen but just not for EDC.

I know of no gun that is small enough to fit into a holster made from an appendix.

Thanks to everyone who has made holster recommendations ill be looking into each of them. As for the worry about my pistol shooting off my man hood, im not too worried about that since there should be no reason that my pistol would be going off for. I have found the pistol is the most pain in sitting on the couch or in the car. I might try filing my holster down to see if that helps the feeling.

I carry the Shield apex with either Remora holster. I like the with one with the magazine slot the best. But it depends on my attire.

Yes. Which is why I only practice/train AIWB with a gun that has an "additional" safety that stops the trigger from moving. I've read more than one story about a shirt or something getting stuck during reholstering and then ... sadness. Other than reholstering (I put the gun in the holster then put the holster on to start the day), I am not worried about it going off due to negligence/accident.

I bought a cheap "concealment express" holster from amazon for 34 bucks. I love the thing. I can get in and out of my truck with my shield at appendix with no problems whatsoever.
