Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and thought this would be the perfect place to ask this question because I seemingly cannot find an answer anywhere else. I'm looking to pick up a C.O.R.E in 9mm but cannot figure out the difference between the M&P 9 C.O.R.E with threaded barrel (sku 10268) and the M&P 9 Pro Series C.O.R.E (sku 178061). I understand that the latter has "Pro Series" in the name but on the S&W website pictures of both pistols have Pro Series on the slide so I was just curious to see if there is a difference between the two besides the obvious threaded barrel. Thanks a lot guys!

Well with the lack of responses I'm thinking there's either no difference or no one else knows the difference?

It's a marketing thing, everyone wants to buy the pistol the "pros" use. I have Pro and standard model M&P's. the only functional difference I can see is that the Pro doesn't have the provision for a thumb safety (no cutout), while the standard does. (of course that could be just the pistols I own and not true for all instances).

When it was just either standard or Pro, the answer was simpler because the Pros came with either night sights or FO (9L Pro) as standard, no provision for thumb safety, and the trigger was different.
However, then came the CORE, which had the Pro trigger and taller sights for cowitness, then another SKU for the threaded barrel version, which was still a version of the "Pro."
And the descriptions in the catalog were written at different times, so sometimes you can't tell the players WITH a program....

When I bought my M&P Pro 40 some years back the difference was that the "Pro" models were equipped with the 2 piece safety trigger and NO external Thumb Safety. Hope this helps.

They used to refer to it as Pro, but now it is as Performance Center, Pro is the older code
