Default M&P22 10rd mag conversion question.

Bought my 22c last summer and just started looking for larger mags and have read about the 12rd conversion.

Took both of my 10rd mags apart and neither have the insert.

Is there something I'm not noticing on the ones I have?

Thanks.

I believe that conversion is for the full size M&P 22 not the compact. I have not seen any conversions for the compact.

Ah ok. I knew there had to be something that I over looked.

Thanks.

There is a conversion kit available for the 22c. I purchased two for my mags and they work as advertised. Only downside is that you lose the last round lock on the slide.

This youtube video explains the conversion and how to order. The guy shipped fast.

I happen to like the load assist pin on the mag, as well as the last shot lock open on this model. Besides, this is a range-only toy for me and it runs flawlessly as it comes from the factory.

I did happen across that video in my search, but never found any posts about them. Thanks for the confirmation that they work well.

I'm wondering why they didn't just mold the slide lock into the new piece.

The load assist is a nice feature. I have no problem giving that up for a 50% capacity increase though.

The lack of slide lock doesn't bother me at all.

At this point it is just a range gun for me also.

Looking at the pricing of both options; It's $20/shipped each for additional 10rd magazines or $59/shipped for a 5pk of the capacity upgraders. So it's slightly cheaper to just order a couple more magazines.

I have a total of four mags for this gun so when I go to the range I have 40 rounds ready to go.

Sorry, I forgot that I left a comment on this thread lol.

No problem. I've probably shot somewhere in the neighborhood of 1000-1500 rounds through the gun with those magazine mods. I haven't had any issues to speak of. I just assumed that the follower was from another make/model magazine. I didn't really pay a lot of attention as the slide lock didn't matter much to me.
