Default Just bought SW22 VICTORY last week

I got the one with the threaded barrel for use with my suppressor. Ready to take her out to the range this weekend. Also bought a nice 1911 I've had my eye on for a while.

Wondering - red dot or magnified optic?

I hear it's pretty dang accurate with that heavy barrel and all.

Thanks peeps

My father-in-law bought the non threaded version shortly after they came out. It is a great shooting gun with an excellent trigger. Not sure what to tell you for optics though, the factory sights are great IMO. I don't shoot a lot of 22's and I already have the 22 Compact and an old Ruger MKII which is another great shooting pistol. If not for those I would own a Victory now.

I would not put a magnified scope on a pistol unless you're doing something where you really want to take 50 to 100 yd or more shots off a bench or other support. For off hand shooting, a 4X scope will make your hold look 4 times shakier. In my .22 league, which is basically the same as 50 ft NRA bullseye except you're allowed to use 2 hands, and any non-laser sight, everyone I know of that's tried using a scope has taken it off. All the top shooters without exception use red dots. Plunk down $70 or so bucks for a Bushnell TRS-25, and a Victory in the right hands will compete with "serious" bullseye guns. And if you're more interested in speed type shooting like steel challenge or just plinking, then the red dot is a no brainer.

I have shot mine all three ways. Open sights, 2 x 6 scope, benchrest, and red dot. Matchdot II and I like the match dot 2 a lot I own 3 of them. The scope was fine at the lower settings but a 6x even with a custom pistol rest i shake to much. it sure will but them all in the same hole.
