Default New M&P 22 Compact Trigger

Hi! Shot my new M&P 22 Compact this morning. I actually flinched when it finally fired because of the unexpected long trigger pull. I actually flinched on several of my first shots with the gun. Didn't know where the heck the bullets were going. Yes, they were on the target, but that was about all I could say. So I sat down with a rest to see where this thing was shooting. My next 8 of ten were in a 2-2 1/2" group in the left center of the target. Sooo... Obviously the gun is better than the shooter! No surprise there. Question-is this the norm for this gun, a long trigger pull? That is ok, but is does take some getting used to. My 22/45, Buckmark Camper, and even my 617 revolver have a much shorter pull. Thanks for your responses!

Have you been cocking the hammer on the Model 617 for each shot?
If so, try shooting it double action.....

My Compact .22 has a longer trigger pull, quite different feeling than my Buckmark. But as I've had somewhat similar trigger feels in other MP's I am fine with it. It's noticeable but not any deterrent to shooting it; in fact 600 rounds fired with 0 ammo issues I've have found the little Compact can be quite a fun toy to shoot.
Not as accurate as the BM, but a very good plinker none the less

Get used to it. I recently traded off a M&P compact22 - will concentrate on other 22s in the safe. Regards, Ed
