Default Shield 40 from 2012

I recently bought a very slightly used Shield 40, fired case dated December 2012. How does this iteration compare to current production? Are there issues that S&W would fix or things I should fix or watch for?
I have a M&P 40C and a Shield 9(fired case December 2014) that have been flawless and hope for the same with this new pistol.
Thanks for your input.

Shoot it and see how she runs. Mine is from 2014 and the only issue has been with a faulty mag. If any pressure was applied to the bottom of the mag, like placing your pinky under it for support, the mag would contact the trigger bar, and prevent it from releasing the sear. This created a dead trigger. It only happened with one of the extended mags and only after it was heavenly used for about a year as my main range mag.( at least 1k rounds thru it) SW replaced the mag and all seems fine now. Curious to see if it happens again after extensive use.

There was a recall. Make sure that's been taken care of.

Located info on S&W web site. Safety Alert dated August 22, 2013 on Shields made before August 19, 2013.
The procedure to test/evaluate your specific gun is in the document. It involves the trigger. Mine does not need service!
Thanks for the heads-up!
