S&W M&P 10mm??
Any idea of S&W coming out with a 10mm in the future? I like the new Springfield XDM in 10mm but I would wait to purchase if S&W were to come out with a 10mm.
Thanks

I haven't seen any rumors but S&W is very good at not leaking information about what they are working on. I never hear anything about new models until they show up on the S&W website.

When they do, I'll buy one. I love my 2.0 45ACP and I gotta think the 10mm will be great too.

While I'm not a negative person by nature, I have been holding my breath waiting for S&W to revive the M&P .357 SIG. I am now Navy Blue. A 10mm would be a very acceptable alternative to the .357, and would get me breathing again.

Heavy recoil in a smaller frame pistol. Full spec 10mm runs 180 grains at about 1250 fps. Snappy indeed in a M&P.

I recently shot a 10mm Glock 29 subcompact. The recoil wasn't too objectionable, and I liked shooting it. The only problem was that the base plate of the flush-fit magazine banged into my pinkie on every shot. An extended-grip base plate would solve that problem. However, I'd much prefer an M&P, with its better trigger and the option for a thumb safety.

I hear the 10mm M&P will be released about the same time as the Bodyguard 2.0 with its SA 4 pound trigger

There were hints and rumors on a big AR site earlier this year that they were possibly working on an M&P10. While I desperately want one, I’m not holding my breath in any way, shape, or form.
That said, I think the release of the XD10 helps our cause. That leaves Smith as the only major handgun manufacturer not making a 10mm of some sort. I’m personally holding out until SHOT show to see what happens. If they don’t release one then, I may spring for an XD10.

I imagine they will see how many `10mm XDM's sell. I thought about the XDM 10, but probably just stay with 45. Basically due to ammo supply and components and factory ammo prices are gawdawful

Awesome! Another "I wish there were an M&P in 10mm" thread.
Maybe S&W will actually read this one and make one. I'll ask them at the Shot Show in Jan.

I asked S&W about a 10mm and got nowhere.
But, I recently bought a Springfield Armory XD(M) 5.25 in 10mm. Took it to the range, shot it, it was completely reliable with generic ball and some mid heavy SIG ammo but I got no love for it. Like my M&P9 2.0 and Ruger SR9Cs much better.
Biggest issue is that factory 10mm ammo is stupid expensive and I was planning on reloading for it. Had dies and all that.
But.....the gun flings brass all over Gods Green Earth. Range I belong to is a bit rough and the brass went where it couldn't be found. I even pointed the gun at the berm from waist height and watched the brass be ejected and still couldn't find the brass. Recovered about 15% of the brass which makes reloading a joke. Sold it back to the gunshop that received it for me. Don't miss it. Don

If you have a 45acp bump up the recoil spring with some wolff springs extra power calibration pack of recoil springs and try out 45 super or 450smc . A 185gr will exceed 1300fps in a 4.25 barrel and do it with less pressure than a 10mm so recoil less of an issue .

I too will wait until shot show, and if no S&W M&P 10 is imminent, I will buy the XDM 10 mm. I have two 1911 platform 10's, a Dan Wesson which was junk from the get go, and a Ruger which is a shooter and reliable, but too heavy to carry around the farm all day. I have the complete line of M&P's and they are the most ergonomic aqnd shootable strikers ever put together. This from a 30 year Glock/SWAT/ die hard Glock guy.

If you already have an M&P 40 your 357SIG is only a StormLake conversion barrel away: don't even have to buy new magazines!
Cheers!
P.S. And a 40 to 9mm conversion only requires you to purchase new 9mm magazines (I put extensions on mine to preclude mixing them up)!

You've read my mind. My LGS had Storm Lake 357 SIG conversion barrels on sale a few weeks ago, and I bought one for my 40c. You can read about my initial range experiences here:
Storm Lake .357 SIG conversion Range Report
Unfortunately, circumstances have conspired to keep me from the range for a while, but I will update my thread as soon as I get back in action.

I don't say "never." I do say "WHY 10mm?" There are reasons this caliber has not risen to the top of popularity in handgun calibers...YMMV
