Default Apex FF Trigger in PC Shield

I just installed the Apex Aluminum Flat Faced trigger in my Performance center Shield. I did only the trigger as I liked PC trigger feel Just not so much the hinged polymer.

I don't have a trigger gauge (coming tomorrow) so I can't tell for sure, but the trigger feels noticeably lighter? Is that possible? I used all the same internals just the new trigger. Maybe the spring is in a lighter position now? Or a little added leverage? I also notice the Reset is much less pronounced. I can still feel the reset, but it use to be snappier and a louder click.

First time I've done anything like this.
any thoughts?

Lyman Trigger gauge came a day early, Pull is right about 4.5lbs average...I couldn't measure before swapping the trigger, so I'm not sure how much help only the after measurement is.

I'm curious about the flat faced trigger you installed. Apex tactical website specifically states that the flat faced trigger DOES NOT work in ANY shield model. I'm curious as to how you made it work. Thanks.

they have one for the shield, but is a bit different than the full size.

You have to look at the shield section of their website. This is the Trigger I installed:

Details

It's made for the shield.

Ok thanks but the description for your link says this:

"Applicable To What Gun(s)
Works with all Smith & Wesson M&P Shield Pistols in 9mm and .40 calibers. NOT currently for use in the Shield 45.
Works in conjunction with the Apex Shield Duty/Carry Kit, or as a stand-alone with the factory sear and other components."

But if it works I may try it..

That's correct there is no apex parts for the shield 45 yet. It works so good that honestly it feels a bit scary specially on a carry gun. I removed mine and left just the duty carry trigger parts (sear and striker block).

I thought you only installed the FF trigger. Did you install duty carry parts too?
Do you think just the FF trigger alone would feel too light?

I did the whole thing, the OP not sure I guess just the trigger. IMO the trigger alone won't affect too the much trigger pull can't confirm or deny since never tried the trigger alone but the apex sear is advertised to reduce the trigger pull about 2lb.

Then comes in play the trigger return spring if you left the factory return spring the overall trigger pull will be lighter if you install the apex trigger return spring trigger pull should be similar to factory specs. My trigger pull is around 5.5lb just perfect in a carry gun. I wouldn't go any lower.

Yes I did just the Trigger. I have the Performance center model, which had a very smooth crisp pull out of the box. I just was not crazy about the hinged trigger, and I like the solid 1 piece better. Pull is right at 4.5lbs. I didn't measure before (didn't have the gauge yet), as I said above, it feels a little lighter with just changing the trigger, but I don't see how.
