Shield 45 night sights?
It's time to install some night sights on my shield, I've looked on Google already, but I want some real opinions from other shield owners. I don't want to paint the sights with glow paint, but I don't want to spend a small fortune either. Any info would help, I've got money burning a hole in my pocket! I didn't install a set yet because I wasn't sure if I really needed them... but I was doing some training/practicing without any ammo near me at all almost complete darkness and realized that I couldn't see good enough to get any kind of sight picture. Now I do carry a flashlight daily also and I am not gonna just start shooting at anyone in my house if I hear a noise... but if I am let's say taking out the trash and I get mugged... maybe seeing the sights would be a good thing?

IMHO; I never understood night sights for civilian CCW or a nightstand gun.
Mostly because I aspire to the < 7 yard rule when it come to self defense situations. I believe that at <7 yards, do you really need night sights? Hopefully, you will not be shooting in the dark, maybe low light?

I like night sights for many different reason. I have no option of carrying a light on the shield 45acp so I opt for night sights. I have trijicon hd's and I like how quick I can pick up the front sight. I also carry a light on my support side, but if I am doing it real time who knows if I will have the chance to get to my light if it goes down quickly. I would suggest if you use it for CC to install them especially if you already bought them. I agree that within the average distance for self defense you won't need your sights at all and it is good to learn to point shoot as well. I have had plenty of training regarding shooting without the sights and it is surprising how accurate you can be as long as you keep your presentation of the weapon from the holster consistent. YMMV

Novak's just installed their Megadot tritium front, with a plain black, super-wide notch rear on mine. I like to be able to pick up the from in less than ideal lighting, but find anything on the rear just confusing.
You can send the slide alone to them for installation. Quick turnaround.

I like the Truglo TFX pros. Fiber optic and bright tritium, good in all light, orange front green rear, can rack the slide off the rear sight, durable, and easy (for me anyway) to pick up. They check all the boxes.

Shield 45 night sights?
I really like the Ameriglo Tritium I-Dot Green with Lumigreen. Easy to use in any light condition and they are $80 shipped on that river site.
I've had them for a few years on my CC Shield and have had no problems with them.
