Got a new shield taken adavantage of the rebate
Today I went and purchased a new 9mm shield. Was on the fence with this one as I have PC shield in 9mm but it's been at S&W for the last month. They have had it back longer than I had it.
I like the shield and my local dealer had them today at $359. They had a pile of them actually. Was $399 but down today so out the door with tax $381. After rebate it will be $306. Couldn't pass this one up.
They had it 45 but at $429. Better trigger and nice since fit my hand well. The grip felt like 40 grit sand paper but I could get used to it. May get one of those before the end of the rebate but will see.

I'm tempted to buy another one too. Kentucky Gun Co has the 9 for $249.99 and the 45 for $264 after rebates and free shipping.

The prices online are cheap. In my area in CT dealer cost of $359 is tough to beat. I know I could of saved a little buying online but after transfer fee it would be about 30 cheaper but difference is no waiting and I get to pick the one I want to take home so... but it's getting harder to pass on some of the online deals.

Didn't think you were dissing anything and didn't take it that way. I would of probably purchased online if I didn't find this deal today.
Not living in CT would be a good thing as well. Unless you like outragios taxes, dumb *** gun laws, and criminal politicians. I myself planning leaving in 2-3 years and heading back to Texas.

I'm trying to resist the urge to by a Shield in .45. I don't need it.. but damn, that pricing is good.
Congrats on getting a 9mm. I've got one (bought 3 weeks ago, grr..) - great gun.

I took advantage of a local deal on the 45 Shield I had been wanting one to try out after reading all the positive reports and the rebate was the clincher!
Should be interesting and a fun learning curve.

I spent a few years in Dallas one summer . I frequently buy local because the small shop I deal with usually undercuts any deal I can find. And he's a good guy.

I bought a 9mm PC last Tuesday at Bass Pro for $499. Used a bunch of gift cards. Went yesterday 4/2/17 to another store and the wife bought a Bodyguard with the Crimson Trace for $349. with the rebate. They were also selling the 9mm PC for $404 with the rebate. I thought those prices were decent.

The Kentucky Gun Company adds a 3rd factory magazine with the Shield 9mm, according to the video on their Facebook page. Sales tax kills local deals for me plus online stores have better prices. And my dealer charges $0 for FFL transfers.

I just bought a 9mm Shield today for $319 + tax. $341 otd or $266 after my rebate comes in. Store is Everything Concealed Carry in Clarksville Indiana and they have been selling 9mm Shields for $319 since well before Christmas. The rebate motivated me to buy another gun I didn't need but now you'd have to pry it out of my cold dead fingers to get it back. Or offer me a $20 profit.

What you waiting for fella....go..go..go...you are not going to find it cheaper and believe it or not the 45 (check Ripley's) is more accurate than the 9mm. I had both then sold my 9.

Got a new shield taken adavantage of the rebate
My .45 Shield is on the way.... been going back and forth between that or an M&P 45c.... the rebates that came out swung that vote. After rebate I'll be in only $270.
My 9mm is gonna be jealous.

I think after rebates, the Whittakers email I got was $225 for any caliber. Can't remember what their shipping was, maybe $15 or so last thing I bought from them.

I gave up on resisting. I bought the Shield 45 Saturday from CDNNsports with a $75 rebate. Too good of a deal to pass up.

Apparently due to the high demand they rise the price the shield 45 is listed now at $399 Grabagun is priced at $339 ..anyone has dealt with them before? I usually don't buy online, but I guess the deals are way better than the local gun shop.

Yep the rebate is a deal matched with lower prices it was an easy call to make.
Let me ask for those who submitted the rebate online other than the screen saying the submission was entered did anyone get an email or anything stating the rebate was being processed? Kind of thought I would of but perhaps not.

That's where I was going to get mine (local to me) but I'd have to pay sales tax, so would cost more than I paid online with free shipping.

Well I've noticed that merchants that have 45's in stock jacked up their prices; oh well, there's always next time

Man, the S&W rebate is just a cherry. $315 at GrabAGun prior was already pretty cheap, but my LGSs charge $30 for transfers so I just went with their price of $349 in February. Hard pill to swallow when I'm reading others get it for 75% of the price I paid.

Kentucky Gun Store is sold out of the 45's so the sale price is no longer showing. They were $339 when they were in stock. But the sale started on April 1st and they went fast.

is it sad that I already have a .45 and 9mm shield and want to grab another one as backup just because of this STUPID low price? I'm still pissed I didn't wait on my .45 shield as I paid $399 for it when it first came out in August 2016.... ugggggg

I ordered from Grabagun.com. Shield 45 for $339 plus free ship. $264 after rebate. The only better deal out there is Whittaker.

Patience, Grasshopper
I may catch some flak for this, but I’m gonna wait and see what happens with prices. There are 12 MORE WEEKS of the Rebate period left, and after the initial excitement dies down, prices may drop even more. S&W obviously wants to move a lot of units and seems to be flooding the market. I love my Shield 9, but do I really “need” another Shield? Maybe a 45? No. But like many of you, I covet another…and like everyone, I want the best deal.

I started this thread and even though I did but a 9mm Shield last weekend if the prices do drop in a few weeks prior to the rebate going away a 45 Shield will be coming home.
I am also waiting to see if any other manufactures do something as well. I am hopeful Ruger does something soon.
The online chatter is by end to mid summer price will be dropping all around. We will see.

I plan to look this weekend at a gun show in my area for the 45 Shield, and I hope the prices are not inflated because everyone knows about the rebate.

I don't need another one either. But if I find an offer I can't refuse... so far, not there yet. Will wait and see. I too am of the belief that this is just the beginning.

I bought my 9mm from Whittakers the morning of the 1st and then went to a local gunshow just to see what they had on the tables. Naturally I checked out the Shields(for the first time btw,....I'd never had an interest in one prior to the rebates,.....I'm a 3rd gen metal pistol guy).
My all-in cost from Whittakers after shipping, transfer fee and rebate will be $265. I thought if I could find a .45 locally for around that I'd try one of those too, but that didn't work out. The best price I could find at the show was $359 for either 9mm or .40 but the same dealer had the .45s at $389. That's all-in $310 for a 9mm/40 and $340 for a .45, so I didn't grab one. Decided to check Whittakers website again this morning and the .45s were back in stock,..........so I have a .45 on the way for another $265. Can't see how they can get much cheaper.
Some people might say "buy local" and support your area dealer, but I'd rather give my receiving transfer dealer a clear $20 profit for 5 minutes of paperwork and a phone call than give some guy I don't know at a gunshow $50 for the same thing. New guns in boxes are just a commodity,......I don't care where I get them and I don't give a hoot about 'service',......I just want the best price. If someone around here bothered to stock older collectible guns I'd support them, but every shop around here is nothing but a catalog showroom.

Well if they do drop even lower, I'll go ahead and grab the .40. Why not have the whole family?

I got some email blasts this week and a couple of fliers that had them down to $289. The price you paid from your lgs was not that bad and I'd not hesitate myself just to use the local. I just got an M&P .40 used in new shape with the case and all the stuff for $320. Put the mid grip on it and I really like it. I'm thinking of getting a drop in 9mm barrel and mag for two guns in one and getting another one for the wife. That Shield price makes them hard to pass up but I have a shelf of plastic Rugers, Kahr's etc already.
It is not replacing my Kahr CW45 yet but it is close.

I have. No problems and I always check them when thinking of a new firearm. Today I was looking at a Savage Target Rifle in .260
