Here's the text of an Email I got from Smith today.

What do you think? Seems to me somebody got yelled at:

Dear Valued Smith & Wesson Customer,

Thank you for your recent purchase and on behalf of Smith & Wesson firearms, I would like to personally apologize for the delay you have experienced in receiving your rebate on this purchase. Typically we are able to process rebates within a few weeks of receipt, and our recent performance does not meet our standard.

The “Savings You Can Carry” program has been very popular, and the tremendous response we received temporarily overwhelmed our systems. I have personally overseen our correction of the situation, and am committing to you that if you submitted your rebate in the month of April, your rebate submission will be processed no later than July 7, 2017. If you submitted your rebate in the month of May, your rebate submission will be processed no later than July 31, 2017.

Nothing is more important to us than your loyalty. Please accept our sincerest apologies and our appreciation for your patience, as well as your dedication to the products we are so proud to deliver.

Regards,

Matt Buckingham
President, Smith & Wesson Firearms

From all the crying about not getting rebates or names not showing up on the rebate site, it's no wonder S&W had to send out a mass email. You'd think that some of these guys spent their last dime on a new pistol and can't eat from the sounds of it. Patience is a virtue:D, everyone please relax.

I got my rebate from Springfield in three weeks. However I would think S&W had a lot more guns sold than did Springfield.

Me too

I purchased a new 9mm PC Shield on Saturday at Cabela's, submitted rebate info on line the next day, already received the email letter advising they would process by July 31, which sounds very normal and reasonable for ebate processing time. Great deal, $75 rebate is a big rebate, very happy with it, probably would have bought the Shield without the rebate :)

I submitted the rebate on my Shield .45 online a couple of weeks ago. However, there was still no acknowledgement from S&W (email or otherwise). Did anybody get any feedback/acknowledgement from S&W once you submitted your rebate online? Should I do it again online or just mail it in to make sure they get it?

see other threads on the subject. S&W is emailing people:"Dear Valued Smith & Wesson Customer,

Yes, I received an email within a couple of days. One of the previous posts in this thread included the letter from S&W with the link to check the status of your rebate.

If you definitely included your email when you submitted your rebate info, might be worth checking the junk / spam folder of your email, I find a lot of automated messages there in my email.

I did the online rebate and as of yesterday if you call in to check, the mailbox is full so I mailed a copy to be safe.

Rebates don't drive my purchases anyway. In fact, I make it a point to avoid products that entice a purchase with a rebate ever since I was screwed a few times in the past by delays or not receiving the rebate. If a MFG isn't willing to make a price adjustment that allows vendors to lower the price, I seem to drift to a different product.

I jump on rebates anytime they are worth my time ($20+). I've never had an issue with any rebate I've submitted and if I ever do that company will lose my business.

Received plenty of free items using rebates and lots of great deals

No, when I did mine the first week of April they weren't sending out confirmation. They have just started that since the letter they sent out the other day.
And no, I wouldn't do it again. Go on the rebate site and see if your in their record base. If not, they give the, a call

I entered my rebate on 4/22 and no email yet. The rebate is showing up as entered. It is also showing that I entered a $1.50 rebate for some juice in 2008. Must be another guy with my name in my zip code because I wouldn't have wasted my time for $1.50.

And "processed by July 7" doesn't mean you'll have it by July 7. Could be sitting in the mail room for another month. S&W isn't mailing it. This rebate company is.

Its not that I cant afford it. I could buy 10 more. Its the principle of the thing.

I think what Funflyer is saying, basically, is consider the Company's position. Sounds like all is well. I'm waiting on 13 rebates. Not worried.
