On the underside of the slide there is a hole at the forward end of the rear section of the slide (does that make sense? it's below the hole for the striker on the breech face) If you use a straight probe, you can release the liner (it snaps into a groove), then use a 90 degree probe to pull it out, or a brass bore brush but that can ruin the liner. You probably should have a replacement before you do this.

On the 9mms I carefully thread in a tap from my tap and die set. I use the one that just barely doesn't fit. And then just pull. If you are careful, negligible damage occurs. And can be reinstalled.

If it ain't broke.............you're not trying hard enough.
I ponder the utility of cerakoting a slide that is already coated stainless steel.........But then again I ponder over many things occurring about me in this beautiful world. Godspeed my man-What colour are you doing it in??

Haha I hear ya. Tungsten. Basically just doing it because I'll have left overs from lower/upper and handguard.

You don't want the inner part of the guide roughened up in any manner, it could affect the striker operation.

Yeah, a good sized agency in this state had some real problems with messed up striker channels on a significant number of their duty guns (M&P .40). Many of them would not fire. It was a big fat hairy deal.
