Just got back from the range and started to disassemble my 9mm Shield. Couldn't do it. Here's what I found. The spring at the locking block, just behind the takedown lever had popped out of the slot and prevented the slide to be slid off. I managed to hold the spring in with a small screwdriver and remove the slide. Anyone else have this problem? S@W is sending me a shipping label. Pics attached:

I don't think it is a common issue, I only have seen like two or three people here reporting this, also don't know what you guys are doing to get this out of place, on all the shield's I had currently on my 4th never had this before. The spring sits on a groove there is no moving part that will get it out of place.

I don't think it is a common issue...

On the contrary, it is somewhat common. Many of us that have experienced this simply get it fixed and move on without chatting about it all the time.

I didn't want to wait for weeks while S&W fixed it, so I brought it in to my local gunsmith and they have seen this issue before. It's a quick fix...either pop the retaining spring/wire back in the slot, or if it is bent, replace it. The part is only $3-$4.
