has someone checked to see of putting a 1.0 backstrap on a 2.0 frame and vice versa is possible. Blockbuster trade decision 'tween me and lonestar outlaw hanging in the balance :D

When i was considering going from my 1.0 to a 2.0 I swear i read the straps were compatible both ways just like mags. But did not pull the trigger on the change so cant speak from real in-hand knowledge.

- one of the threads i saw earlier on this; note about the tool needed as well.

M2.0 backstraps on 1.0???

Yes, it works. One was tighter than the other though. It been a while, sorry I couldn't be more specific.

Yep, I've switched back and forth on a couple of mine. With the smooth texture of the 1.0 backstrap on the rough 2.0 frame I was able to get the perfect grip. Vice versa for my old VTAC.

S&W says you just use the right key that goes with the backstrap. so if you put the 1.0 strap on a 2.0, use the 1.0 frame tool insert too. and yes it does work, I've done it as well. don't know if it works well without using the right frame tool but maybe someone else has done that.

I purchased a FDE Gen 1 small backstrap to try on my Gen 2 and it went on fine and stays in place using the only frame tool I have, the Gen 2 (or 2.0 if you prefer) I thought the 2.0 grip texture might prove too much after a few hundred rounds, but it didn't.

Same here. I've interchanged tools and grips without issue.
